Disco Shrine Biography
The LA based Songstress and DJ known as Disco Shrine has been described as an alt-pop firebrand with artistry comparable to Lorde and a voice comparable to Charli XCX. High praise for this first-generation Persian Barbie …but this is just the beginning.
Her first single, “Up In The Air" (2018), was released through French label Maison Kitsuné in partnership with the NBA and set her on a hip hop influenced alt-pop path. The track went on to receive massive accolades, some high-profile fans like Diplo, and touched global audiences charting in France, Spain, Greece and Sweden. Her follow up EP, “xoxo, disco” (2021) effortlessly blended-in trap, emo, and goth sonics all within a huge slice of premium electro-pop. And all while remaining 100% Disco Shrine. The EP featured the indie hits ‘Hello’ and ‘Power’ all on the eve of her first post-covid US tour along side Sizzy Rocket. And when Disco Shrine isn’t behind the mic, she’s perfectly comfortable behind the decks keeping the party going all night as one of LA’s most sought-after DJs.
Next up for the Persian Barbie known as Disco Shrine is the flagrantly cool Emo Nite at Avalon in Los Angeles on 09/02 and East Coasters can check her out at Elsewhere in Brooklyn on 09/15.
