Junk Season Biography
Junk Season is the musical pursuit of Harrison Kendall, he started this project in 2020 under the name Fordë, creating lo-fi beats with pop punk roots. He released a mixtape and 2 EPs of which songs from each featured on BBC Introducing. He couldn’t believe the music he wrote in his bedroom was worthy enough! Over the next few years through lockdowns and other challenges, his sound evolved, leading to a change in the project name.
Junk Season's music is primarily pop punk with a modern twist, with songs that explore themes of self doubt, anxiety and the trials and tribulations of life. Harrison draws inspiration from his own experiences, and growing up listening to bands like Blink-182, he aims to create music that impacts others the same way as his icons. He hopes his songs help people in some way, be it feeling understood or even escaping for just a moment.
The name Junk Season came out of Harrison’s desire to create a name that encapsulated the new direction of the project. For him, the songs he writes are a product of sifting through the ‘junk’ in his mind, and come in waves or ‘seasons’, and some of the subject matter can be difficult to face. However, one person’s trash is another’s treasure, and he hopes that listeners can find connection and understanding in his music.
While the music composed by Harrison is written by him, he plays with long time friends Dan Streeter and Hayden Peerless who perform with him for live shows.
