Mark Rogers

Mark Rogers springs from the American west coast tradition of literary songwriting. There’s no mistaking his “nod to the past” yet still with both hands on the wheel. His more recent work has a distinct feeling of movement. It’s driving music but with lyrics that will transport you to your own experiences within your own timeline. Although you can hear echoes of his biggest influences: The Beatles, Laurel Canyon, Elvis Costello, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Mark’s songs are his own. He demonstrates an advanced level of songwriting craftmanship utilizing unexpected chord changes along with a gift for melody. His music is based on acoustic guitar rhythms but is brought to life with drums, bass, electric guitars, B3 organ and an array of other instruments including piano, pedal steel, and mandocello. Mark’s vocals are unique and easy. Two and three-part harmony is scattered throughout to enhance color and texture. Mark’s two LP’s: 2019’s “Laying It Down” and 2021’s “Rhythm of the Roads” both debuted in the top-20 on the EuroAmericana chart and skimmed the top 100 of the AMA.
