Diana Ross

Well Diana Ross has been on my "bucket list" for years ...like 60 lol. I heard her via my parents records at home and my sister and I would play them. Motown was happening and many of my favorite artists were a part of it. Even when I entered college and the Mahogony album was released with the song "Do you know where your're going to..." It hit me cause there was so much focus on my major and the decisions I was making for my lifes choices. There was also a connection to Billie D Williams and Ross in Mahogony 1975...I took a year off before entering college in 1976. While I spent time in CA. in this interim period I was an assistant to a student film production co, in LA and we were filming at the Doheny Mansion where the AFI (american film institute ) was head quartered. On one of the filming days I heard they needed help with recording an interview on site with Billie D Williams. I asked if I could help and got a quick lesson on the recording equipment ...handed the mic to Billie D...had my headphones on and the rest was history...in the can as they say like movies. So my history was strong but it would take 60 years to see Ross in concert. That changed on August 19 2026 Live at Wolf Trap....Filene Center. Its a wonderful open air ...spectacular design...awesome woodwork and the largest fans I have ever seen on the ceiling and looked to be made out of wood also. Diana came on stage at 8:30 and for me it was magical and she looked / moved and sounded great....at one point remined us she was 82 ! For 90 mins she sang through the catalogue of her hits as the lead singer of the Supremes and as an individual artist. She was very personal with the audience and had quite the pictorial history of her life from a child eventually the Motown Years...films...to current...with her family seeming so important to her. I only wish that my Mom and sister had physically been with me on this night as they have both passed on but I felt their spirits and they to enjoyed Diana !
