In the ensuing bidding war following the phenomena of The Texas Campfire tapes, she stood her ground, retaining ownership of both recording masters and song copyrights, in a remarkable negotiation with Universal. A trilogy of Grammy-nominated albums, the Mercury Trilogy, was released over the next five years, launched by her signature song, "Anchorage."
