Instrumental-Post-Metal Duo

The duo DRAGUNOV, based in Nantes, France, emerging as an enigmatic power, are exploring the edges of instrumental post-metal. Created in 2013, from a rare symbiosis between the guitar player Sebastian and the drummer Tristan, what sets them apart is their immersive approach to instrumental music.
Taking its name from the famous sniper rifle, DRAGUNOV is depicting some soundscapes inspired by the soviet era. The musicians reveal their influences such as Mantar, Russian Circles, Cult Of Luna, or Triptykon, combining some powerful and dark sound elements, capturing emotional tensions.
The band released its first EP “637” in 2015, followed by “KOROLEV” in 2017, illustrating the spatial race during the Cold War. In 2020, their sophomore album “ARKHIPOV” talked this time about the conquest of the seas of the soviet block. It was recorded and mixed by Raphaël Bovey (Gojira, Dirge, Monkey3...). In 2023, with the single “DUNES OF FEAR”, DRAGUNOV took part in the cooperative EP called “Synergies” from the french band NORD.
With more than 90 shows, the duo has shared the stage with bands such as Brutus, Ufomammut, Mutoid Man, Psychonaut, Primordial… and is now continuing its journey with tracks from “VEPR”, the new album we will release on December 6th 2024!
