Biografía de Júlia Colom
Already established as one of the most unique voices of the moment, the proposal of Júlia Colom (Valldemossa, 1997) is as personal as it is complex. Combining her roots, experience and honesty with an artistic curiosity that manages to take her beyond trends, Colom offers us a pop fusion that not only captures the musical moment we live in, but surpasses it.
The artist's identity is born from a life nurtured in music: the centenary “Cant de la Sibil·la” was the first song she learned to sing, at the age of six, with her grandfather as her teacher. When she turned eighteen, Colom moved to Barcelona to study singing, and it is in the city that she began to work on her knowledge of jazz, composition and production that we hear today in her work.
During her professional singing training Colom embarks on a journey to investigate the music of oral tradition in Mallorca, work that filmmaker Joan Porcel follows in the documentary Sempre Dijous, where we see the singer recovering the folklore of the lands where she grew up. Colom then transforms this knowledge through her artistic vision, resulting in her debut álbum “Miramar”, acclaimed by audiences and critics alike.
In 2025 the singer-songwriter returns with “Paradís”, in which Colom shows off her compositional language, overcoming the limits of genres such as electronic, pop or folk, while she also undertakes a role as producer together with Martin Leiton and Òscar Garrobé. In addition to the musical proposal, Colom makes herself heard with verses as raw as sensitive, full of images, landscapes and dreamlike evocations, dealing with themes such as loneliness, creation or love. “Paradís” maintains the singer's identity and the musical heritage of the Mallorcan traditional songs, but expands towards a complex, playful, precious, and emotional pop.
