Moreza Biography
There should be no doubt, Moreza is a musical prodigy and a bright star in the future of neuvo flamenco and the global chill-out scene. Always a trailblazer, Moreza has embraced his flamenco roots with mediterranean sounds and a middle eastern flare, marrying them to the best of smooth electronica to create a compelling soundtrack for the global groove. Listeners from Mallorca to Lyon to Tehran have rejoiced at the promise of this latest effort from the 23 year old composer.
His first album Once Upon a Love - composed, performed, and produced by Moreza at the tender age of 17 - expressed a musical maturity beyond his years and a depth of emotion that filled the hearts of his fans around the world. That first effort went on to sell over 10 000 copies independently, setting the stage for Moreza’s much anticipated sophomore effort, Crimson Moon.
Three years in the making, Crimson Moon sees the musical mind of Moreza expand into electronica and global chill-out grooves, while staying firmly rooted in the love of flamenco and the mystical romance of his guitar. Produced and recorded in three continents, the album represents Moreza’s most intimate work to date and will explode the boundaries of nuevo flamenco and mediterranean electronica. The album traverses a sonic ocean, through the tides of minimal house to the ebbs of ambient flamenco, leading the listener on a journey inward and outward into love. Never a one-dimensional artist, Crimson Moon is a deeply personal concept album which involves not only music, but a series of original paintings created for each song encapsulating Moreza’s muse. Released in June 2011 coinciding with the crimson eclipse, Crimson Moon is a 14 song LP that is sure to thrill Moreza’s fans and newcomers alike, and carve out a unique space for Moreza in the global groove scene.
Having performed in the past for such dignitaries as Prince Edward and Princess Sophia, as well as thousands of adoring fans across the world, Moreza is a rare type of showman in this modern age. Despite his young age, he brings a quiet and sophisticated presence to the stage and expresses his depth through his music and through his fingers. A far cry from the pop adulation that typifies most of today’s live shows, Moreza’s performances harken back to a time of refined appreciation and maturity and grace in showmanship. Moreza is eager for the release of his new love-labor and excited to come face to face once again with global groove lovers worldwide. The language of love is universal, and Moreza’s latest effort lives in the pulse of that global rhythm.
