kIRk to zespół poszukujący nowych form wyrazu na styku muzyki elektronicznej oraz akustycznej. Grupę tworzy czworo muzyków: Antonina Nowacka (wokal), Paweł Bartnik (elektronika), Olgierd Dokalski (trąbka) i Filip Kalinowski (gramofon). Każdy z nich wyrastał na innych brzmieniach, każdy podchodzi do dźwięku nieco inaczej. Płaszczyzną porozumienia jest dla nich improwizacja, która pozwala wyjść daleko poza ograniczenia gatunkowe. Tu prym wiedzie intuicja i umiejętność prowadzenia dialogu. Owocem jest muzyka pełna organicznej dramaturgii, nieskażona oczywistością. O progresywne myśleniu i rewolucyjnym podejściu międzymiastowego składu w ciepłych słowach wypowiadali się między innymi lider Swans - Michael Gira, pionier future-jazzowej trąbki Nils Peter Molvaer i matka chrzestna nowych brzmień Mary Anne Hobbs. Zespół gościł na opiniotwórczym brytyjskim portalu muzycznym The Quietus, w legendarnym, berlińskim klubie Tresor, a także na scenach takich festiwali jak OFF, Open'er czy Satta Outside. --- kIRk is a band looking for new forms of expression at the crossings of electronic and acoustic music. The group consists of four musicians: Antonina Nowacka (vocal), Paweł Bartnik (electronics), Olgierd Dokalski (trumpet) and Filip Kalinowski (turntable). Each of them comes from a different musical background, therefore they approach composition in various ways. Nevertheless, their common ground is improvisation, which allows the sound to travel far beyond the limitations of a genre. Intuition and the will to communicate lead the team to their goals. The outcome is a sound filled with organic drama, while avoiding the obvious. The leader of the Swans, Michael Gira, pioneer of the futuristic jazz trumpet Nils Peter Molvaer and the godmother of the experimental beats and bass scene Mary Anne Hobbs, all spoke warmly of the progressive thinking and revolutionary attitude of the band. kIRk visited the renowned British music site The Quietus, the legendary Tresor club and such festivals as OFF, Open'er and Satta Outside.
