The Peel Biography
Formed in Athens, Ohio in 2021, The Peel is an instrumental trio consisting of Lucy Schwallie (fiddle), Adam Fuller (banjo), and David Colagiovanni (guitar.) Purposeful and lively, yet fluctuating like a natural phenomenon, their music combines elements of chamber, drone, American primitive, experimental, old-time, and folk music from the world over.
The trio infuse their compositions with warmth and clarity, playfulness, and dashes of boldness. Their music commingles tradition and modernity, recalling old friends’ swirls of words feeding a jubilant and overdue catch-up. Harmony and dissonance strike up a dance that is meticulous, delicate, and mesmerizing.
