Nurk

The Diario de Cadíz described NURK's sound as: “really difficult to categorize: witty and dreamy lo-fi bard that moves like a fish in the water between explicitly sexual rock and romantic, intimate and gloomy ballads, cut with pop.” Various people have compared it to Bowie, Roy Orbison, Morrissey, Waylon Jennings, Jonathan Richman and even Happy Mondays.

NURK started as a solo ‘song-and-dance-man’ project in Austin, Texas, and has since grown to become a Madrid-based, multimedia-musician collaboration between members from different parts of the USA and Europe. Since 2008, NURK has toured all around Europe, as well as in New York and Texas with acts such as Viking Moses (USA), Tim Holehouse (UK), Peter Piek (DE), Myrra Rós (IS), and Toby Goodshank (ex-Moldy Peaches, USA).

Previous releases include Easy Installations #1, the Nurk EP, Even More Songs of Death and Desire (with Fancy Ladies), as well as a collection of remixes and So-lo-fi, a compilation of rarities.

NURK is currently at work on a series of video-singles to be released over the course of the next few months.
