The Number Twelve Looks Like You Biography

Adopting their intrigue-piquing name from a “particularly dark, dystopian 1964 episode of The Twilight Zone”, The Number Twelve Looks Like You captivated audiences with their eclectic blend of grindcore, progressive metal, hardcore punk and jazz. Forming in 2001, the New Jersey-based genre pioneers carved their own lane the release of their debut EP, Put on Your Rosy Red Glasses, in March 2003. The concept record, which explored the fictionalized mind of a real-life serial killer, was enthusiastically received by fans and caught the attention of Eyeball Records, who signed the band and reissued the EP in 2006.

Over the years TNTLLY toured extensively, bringing their complex musicality to devoted fan base around the world. The band went through a handful of lineup changes and musical evolutions. Each subsequent project reflected their growth, An Inch of Gold for an Inch of Time EP (2006), Nuclear. Sad. Nuclear (2005), and Mongrel (2007). The band announced their indefinite hiatus just after the release of their 2009 full-length record, Worse Than Alone (2009). Since then the members have scattered and explored other projects and interests. They ended their hiatus in May of 2016 with a secret show in Kingston, NY, where “Nearly 200 folks packed the room for the show, which was announced only the day before, coming from as far away as Alabama and Detroit” (Metal Sucks).
Today, The Number Twelve Looks Like You is back with Wild Gods, releasing September 20, 2019 and a Fall 2019 Tour.
