Brigitte Calls Me Baby

Both bands were absolutely electrifying and magical. Absolutely would see both Boxing Day and Brigitte Calls Me Baby again!! I've been a fan of BCMB for a few months now and it's always amazing to see a favorite artist so close. Their sound is derivative of many, like the Smiths, New Order, and even some Elvis, but very clearly their own. Their personal style of onstage dress is so unique and fun and makes for great atmosphere. Most importantly, every band member clearly has so much talent and has obviously put in a lot of work. Even if you don't like new wave or genres similar, I recommend seeing BCMB just for the experience of seeing them play so well! As for Boxing Day, they had so much energy!! This band as well has so much talent; my friend noted how well they played together. The drummer and lead singer especially stood out as absolute powerhouses of music. Also, a trumpet?! Rarely see that in indie bands anymore! Vibe is similar to Car Seat Headrest or Neutral Milk Hotel, but again, definitely their own. I look forward to see how these two bands grow and find success!

Brigitte Calls Me Baby is a great band, delivering another electrifying performance. I wasn't happy with the sound mix, however. It was too loud, and I was mostly getting thumping bass and loud guitar. I wasn't getting much mid-range where I was standing. I could barely hear the singer, which is deeply unfortunate, since that is the band's single best feature. I noticed the venue has large speaker towers on the right and left sides, but nothing in the middle. When I saw Brigitte at 7th Street Entry, it was a more intimate venue, they had a center speaker and the volume and mix were FAR superior. If I was less satisfied than at the Entry, I don't blame the band for that; I blame the venue! Come on, guys, give us a little better balance than this.

This band, wow, keep the sun glasses on and I can't wait to see you on the big stage at lolla!

They're one of the best bands I've heard in a long time. I loved there show. Cafe Du Nord is a small intimate room where you can get right in front of the place. I expect this band to really take off, so you probably won't get too many more chances to see them in such an intimate show.

These guys are on their way to BIG THINGS. So happy I was able to see them live in the wonderfully intimate setting at The Moroccan before they start playing in stadiums. The Moroccan is such a great venue. We were able to talk to the band members after the show. Great group of guys. Looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for Brigitte Calls Me Baby!!

Elvis 2.0? Voice was as good as the produced music! Definitely catching these guys again, and please make a vinyl with that upcoming EP!! Also, The Weekend Run Club and Capital Soirée rocked it out. All-in-all, a great night of live music!
