About this concert
\x26lt;p style=\x26#34;text\-align: center;\x26#34;\x26gt;\x26lt;strong\x26gt;EYEHATEGOD\x26lt;\/strong\x26gt; have become the high water mark when it comes to so called sludge metal, having birthed rock\x26amp;#39;s unholy bastards and inspiring multiple others with their combined sounds of southern rock, blues riffs and hardcore punk. Noting Black Flag, The Melvins and Black Sabbath as a domineering and significant influence to their sound today, they are the cornerstone for countless other sonic acolytes following in their fetid footsteps and have made themselves one of the most reputable and distinctive bands ever.\x26lt;\/p\x26gt;\x26lt;p style=\x26#34;text\-align: center;\x26#34;\x26gt;\x26lt;strong\x26gt;EYEHATEGOD\x26lt;\/strong\x26gt;\x26amp;rsquo;s latest album\x26lt;em\x26gt;\x26amp;nbsp;\x26lt;\/em\x26gt;\x26amp;lsquo;A History of Nomadic Behaviour\x26amp;rsquo; and their most recent since their last Australian tour in 2019, is a blowtorch\-distortion and blues\-saturated combination of songs pierced with scarring pain and disconsolate fury. The album combines an unsettling, chaotic tone with a scathing, scabrous slab of cacophonous sensory overload that only \x26lt;strong\x26gt;EYEHATEGOD\x26lt;\/strong\x26gt; know how to convey.\x26lt;\/p\x26gt;\x26lt;p style=\x26#34;text\-align: center;\x26#34;\x26gt;Merging one form of chaos with another is \x26lt;strong\x26gt;GOATWHORE\x26lt;\/strong\x26gt;. Rampaging for now over a quarter of a century as purveyors of the most ruthless extreme metal is \x26lt;strong\x26gt;GOATWHORE\x26lt;\/strong\x26gt; circle back to Australia from the abyss with their trademark blend of death, black, thrash and sludge metal delivered with breathless intensity and an unrepentant bloodlust. Come bear witness the vile sonic territory that only these maniacs can churn out.\x26lt;\/p\x26gt;\x26lt;p style=\x26#34;text\-align: center;\x26#34;\x26gt;\x26lt;strong\x26gt;EYEHATEGOD w\/ Special Guest GOATWHORE | Lion Arts Factory | Thursday 25 July, 2024\x26lt;\/strong\x26gt;\x26lt;\/p\x26gt;\x26lt;p style=\x26#34;text\-align: center;\x26#34;\x26gt;\x26lt;img src=\x26#34;https:\/\/s3\-ap\-southeast\-2.amazonaws.com\/production\-api\-file\-upload\/uploads%2Fclient\-15799%2Fevent\-description%2F1715822521004\-EHG_AusNZ2024_Web600.png\x26#34; style=\x26#34;width: 460px;\x26#34; class=\x26#34;fr\-fic fr\-dib\x26#34;\x26gt;\x26lt;\/p\x26gt;

Eyehategod Biography

American sludge band from Louisiana who are known for their dark, sludgy riffs combined with equally dark lyrics. Like many sludge metal bands, Eyehategod draw on both stoner/doom influences as well as hardcore punk.

Eyehategod have noted Melvins, Black Flag, and Black Sabbath as key influences to their sound. This, combined with heavy, detuned, and bluesy riffs dominate the band's sound. They are combined with walls of feedback and distinctive tortured vocals to create a truly misanthropic vibe.

While Jimmy Bower was busy playing drums for Down, rather than sit on their laurels, the other 4 members of Eyehategod formed a side-project called Outlaw Order (abbreviated to OO%). The band released a limited edition 7" EP in 2003 called Legalize Crime, which has since been rereleased on CD with a bonus live track and is available through Eyehategod's webstore. The criminal theme is apparently because at the time of formation, all 5 of the members were on probation, and have consistently been in trouble with the law. Marc Shultz is currently serving a prison sentence and so has been replaced by Justin Grisoli. The band have recorded their 13 track debut full-length and will release it sometime soon, they are "waiting for a label worth a fuck".
