Helen Sung is an acclaimed jazz pianist and composer. Winner of the Kennedy Center’s Mary Lou Williams Jazz Piano Competition, her Concord Jazz release Anthem For A New Day topped the jazz charts, and her most recent release Sung With Words (2018) is a collaborative project with former National Endowment Chairman and California State Laureate Poet Dana Gioia. With appearances at major festivals/venues including Newport, Monterey, Detroit, SFJAZZ, and Carnegie Hall, she also tours internationally: her “NuGenerations" Project toured southern Africa as a U.S. State Department Jazz Ambassador, and recent engagements include debuts at the London Jazz Festival, Jazz at Lincoln Center Shanghai, Blue Note Beijing, and the Sydney International Women's Jazz Festival.
