De Syrische zanger Omar Souleyman begon zijn carrière als bruiloftszanger, maar is inmiddels een wereldwijd dance-fenomeen. Met zijn unieke, opzwepende mix van westerse techno en Arabische dabke en baladi, zette hij eerder Luxor Live op zijn kop en bracht hij vier uitstekende studioalbums uit! Omar Souleyman verruilde de bruiloften voor grote concertpodium en festivals nadat hij een samenwerking aanging met zangeres Björk en daarna met de Britse dance producer/muzikant Kieran Hebden, beter bekend als Four Tet. Zijn album Wenu Wenu uit 2013 werd opgepikt door NPR en betekende zijn internationale doorbraak! Maak je klaar voor een dampende avond in de grote zaal van Luxor Live!

Omar Souleyman Biography
Omar Souleyman is a Syrian musical legend. Since 1994, he and his musicians have emerged as a staple of folk-pop throughout Syria, but until now they have remained little known outside of the country. To date, they have issued more than five-hundred studio and live- recorded cassette albums which are easily spotted in the shops of any Syrian city.
