This is the fourth time I have seen Harper perform...and he never disappoints! It is nice to see (and hear) a local artist that performs his own creations and not just another ho-hum cover band. This is the first time I have been to BLUEStage Jams, but will definitely not be my last. My wife and I (and a couple of friends) had a blast! The food and drinks were reasonably priced (you can't beat a $3 beer!). The sound and acoustics were better than expected considering the venue is a remodeled automotive garage (I think). I highly recommend this place for a fun night of good music. I know that I'll be back!

Harper and Midwest Kind Biography

Award-winning Australian singer/songwriter Peter D. Harper -- known in the music world, as "Harper", possesses a powerful soulful voice and a deep, almost mystical approach to the roots genre. His Latest release "Rise Up" (2020) is an expansive musical and lyrical journey, stirred up with masterful harp and the earthy, woody, percussive tones of the didgeridoo. “RISE UP” and the highly acclaimed “Show Your Love” (2016), both reached # 3 on the Billboard Blues Charts and stayed in the top ten for 6 months. Peter D Harper has received 14 x Music Awards in 4 different countries.

Harper's musical journey began early, performing in brass bands playing the trumpet and euphonium. At the age of ten, his family moved half way round the world to Perth, Western Australia, and his Grandfather introduced Harper to the harmonica. In Perth, one of the most isolated cities in the world, there was a thriving blues and folk scene. The blues had a rawness, an honesty and a passion of the soul which spoke to Harper deeply. Upon adding the Australian indigenous instrument of didgeridoo, Harper created a tribal rootsy feel to his music. The deep woody qualities and its haunting drone seemed to enhance the emotional quality of his stories.

Peter D. Harper and wife Bobbi Llewellyn- Harper have presented didgeridoo sound therapy and sound bath events world wide. Their passion for healing has taken them on an expansive personal and spiritual journey. Their sound bath experiences incorporate male/ female vocal intonations/ harmonies, Australian indigenous message sticks, Navajo – The Dine` traditional drum, Native American “love” Flute, crystal singing bowls, tongue drum and keyboard drones. Their personal mantra is "Love=Peace=Freedom".
