About this concert
The Run Away With Me launch brings the latest release from technicolour folk-rock collective The Elsewheres to the stage. Featuring a monstrous 8-piece band armed to the teeth with ferocious horns, velvety vocal harmonies and lashings of groove, The Elsewheres don’t plan on leaving the roof intact.Joining them for a night of raucous debauchery, is genre-bending jazz-rock sensation Fairtrade Narcotics and Benjamin Trillado, plus a host of Naarm-based visual artists exhibiting for one night only in The Curtin’s iconic band room. Melbourne singer/songwriter Benjamin Trillado is known for his unapologetic candour and tear-jerking performances. Obsessed with the awkwardness of life and human error, Benjamin's lyrics can be painfully relatable as he sheds light on topics we tend to shy away from.
Growing up Benjamin listened to artists that ranged from Janis Ian to Beyoncè. His eclectic taste in music helped him shape a sound that borrows elements of folk, rock and soul.
