Dom Pipkin and the Ikos

The Black Heart Flamingo Club are Hannah Davis, George Simmonds and Dom Pipkin - three bandleaders specialising in the classic jazz and blues sounds of New Orleans. Expect the forgotten songs of Papa Celestin and Jelly Roll Morton, traditional Second Line anthems, plus the blues of famous Crescent City artists such as Fats Domino and Percy Mayfield - dusted off and given a new lease of life for contemporary audiences. Piano player and composer Dom Pipkin has been earning stripes as session player for decades now, having worked with artists as diverse as Paloma Faith and David Byrne. He is widely respected as one of the finest New Orleans styled piano players in Europe today with many appearances in that famous city. Drummer and multi-instrumentalist/ singer Hannah Davis is also a New Orleans regular, most recently studying with local legend Herlin Riley, and most notably, in 2020 composing original music for and band leading a Mardi Gras parade. Trombone player / singer George Simmonds is similarly in high demand as regular member of the Urban Voodoo Machine and festival favourites Tankus The Henge.
