The Delfonics Biography
About The Delfonics:
Philadelphia's legendary Delfonics, one of the most renowned, successful, and beloved R&B/Pop recording acts from the 1960's and 1970's, are the living embodiment of the popular idiom “often imitated but never duplicated.” Architects of the Philadelphia Soul sound, the group has served as a strong influence on numerous artists including Smokey Robinson, the Jackson Five, Spinners, Stylistics, Blue Magic, Prince, and countless others.
The music of The Delfonics has been featured in movies (“Jackie Brown,” “The Family Man”), TV shows (“Live from Daryl's House”), TV commercials for The Apple Watch (starring Nick Jonas), in the Playstation/Xbox game “Grand Theft Auto V,” in a 2014-2015 commercial for the Parapan American Games, and in popular trailers for two recent Marvel Studios movies: “Avengers – Age of Ultron” and “Captain America: Civil War.” A popular interpolation of their classic hit “Ready or Not Here I Come (Can't Hide from Love)” was released in 2012 by Bridgit Mendler as “Ready or Not.” In 2016, the legendary group appeared on the hit Netflix series “Marvel's Luke Cage.”
