Young Dolph was an American rapper and hip-hop artist. Born Adolph Thornton Jr. on July 27, 1985, in Chicago, Illinois, Young Dolph's journey to success is a testament to his unwavering determination and undeniable talent. As a South Memphis rapper, Young Dolph became a local hero with stern club bangers and cold punch lines served on a series of mixtapes that led to a nationwide breakthrough around 2014.
Young Dolph debuted in 2008 with the mixtape “Paper Route Campaign” and went on to release a series of breakthrough mixtapes and chart-topping albums including “High Class Street Music,” “South Memphis Kingpin, "King of Memphis," and “Role Model.” Notably, Young Dolph was featured on O.T. Genasis' multi-platinum hit "Cut It,” and in the process, has achieved significant critical and commercial success for his music. Young Dolph was fatally shot in 2021, and a posthumous album, “Paper Route Frank,” was released in 2022.
