“Ludwig Wright is a born entertainer and storyteller” Göttinger Tageblatt
Ludwig Wright is an Anglo-German songwriter, poet and performer putting Rock ’n’ Roll into Folk with sing-along melodies. Musically, he is the child of Elvis Presley and Joni Mitchell and combines a dazzling stage presence and a charming smile with tender fingerpicking and a strong, clear voice. He mixes effortlessly musical styles, sings in English, has played street shows all around Europe and over 200 concerts besides having performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and having made his debut at the Rudolstadt Festival 2023 in Germany.
In August 2023 “Turn of Tides or Where the Waves Come From” Ludwig Wright’s third album was released which received four stars from RnR Magazine, being called a “colourful kaleidoscope of earwormy song pearls” by Schall Magazin and was shortlisted by the German Record Critics’ Award. It is a collection of tales with the sea as the setting. The musician says: “I’ve always felt a profound longing for the sea.” Ludwig Wright, who lives in Berlin and has an English father and a German mother, mentions his yearly visits to his grandfather in North Devon: “We’d sit on the cliffs for hours, watching the waves hit the shore. Now these memories have flown into the album.” For this he was able to win the producer Micki Meuser who has worked with German stars like Ina Deter, Silly and Die Ärzte. Recently Ludwig Wright co-wrote and sang a song with the film composer Freya Arde for current cinematic adaption of the novel “The Flying Classroom”.
