Acerca De Veronica Bianqui
A triple threat as a vocal powerhouse, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Veronica Bianqui channels the raw energy of garage rock with the passion of classic soul and R&B, all neatly packaged with catchy pop hooks–picture the quirky vibes of early B-52s meeting the indie-pop sensibilities of The Strokes.
A native of Los Angeles, Bianqui cut her teeth in iconic clubs starting at the age of 16. It was within the underground east side music scene that she began to find her true voice. In her live show, Bianqui has a commanding stage presence, owning the stage with both classic showmanship and a heartfelt vulnerability.
Most recently, she is featured on a future release by Mickey Avalon, produced by Jesse Hughes of Eagles of Death Metal. She has toured as a member of several LA-based bands across the U.S. and Europe. Her past gigs include supporting Kula Shaker in September 2023 at The Regent theater in LA as well as shared bills with Mikal Cronin, The Coathangers, Dead Sara, The Warlocks, Capital Cities, and many other mainstays of the vibrant Los Angeles music scene. In light of this history behind her, it’s easy to see why people come out in droves to see the young songstress perform.
Her music hasn’t gone unnoticed by the press either. She’s been lauded as “Pick Of The Week” in LA Weekly and hailed as “One To Watch” on Buzzbands LA. Her songs frequently grace the airwaves of independent tastemaker stations such as KCRW and KXLU. All this acclaim speaks to her talent and the undeniable magnetism of her music.
In December 2020, she released her eponymous debut album, co-produced by Matt Adams of The Blank Tapes. In her discography, you’ll find gems like the irresistible single “Aah, Paris…” and the infectious “If Love’s A Gun, I’m Better Off Dead.” The latter, in particular, is a standout in her live performances.
Yet, behind this musical journey lies a poignant narrative of resilience. In the last few years, Bianqui endured the devastating loss of her entire immediate family in a heart-wrenchingly short span of time. Life took her on a journey of profound grief and darkness, forcing her to put her music on the back burner for some time. But her spirit remained unbroken.
Her experiences have not only shaped her music but have ignited a newfound purpose and a deep-seated desire to embrace life to the fullest. Her story is a testament to the human spirit’s capacity to endure and triumph in the face of adversity. Bianqui is back in the creative flow, booking live shows, and tirelessly working on new material for her sophomore album.
