What Awaits Us

WHAT AWAITS US - REDEFINING THE METAL GENRE
From southern Finland, the melodic What Awaits Us bridges raw emotion and technical intensity. Their signature melodic deathcore sound, immersive live visuals, immense energy and thought-provoking themes explore the balance between technology and humanity. The band is ready to test the limits of the genre by bringing together a unique musical blend. For over 10 years, the unit has endured through the good and tough times and lit the scene on fire wherever they go and present the immortal question; What Awaits Us in the future?

HISTORY
Originally founded as ArrorA and reborn in 2014 as What Awaits Us, the band has grown from underground roots into one of Finland’s most promising melodic deathcore acts. Their debut album “Awake” and follow-up EP “Anomaly” laid the groundwork for a decade of touring in Finland and in the Baltics. In 2024, singles such as “The Harbinger”, “Hell Above” and “Vanish into Grey” have showcased their blend of modern heaviness, conceptual depth and sharp production, earning them recognition in the national finals of Wacken Metal Battle and praise throughout the scene.

MUSIC
Musically the band's music combines melancholic melodies with hard hitting guitar riffs while taking elements from metalcore and melodic deathcore sub-genres, with the roots being deep in the Göteborg- style metal, occasionally dipping into electronic elements to thoroughly present the new futuristic theme as a part of it. That combination of the genres is truly unique and the band has established its signature sound very well.
