As a leader she has 14+ recordings to her credit, her CD’s on the Maxjazz label “A Walk In the Park”, “Live at Jazz Standard-Vol.1”, and “Live at Jazz Standard-Vol. 2” have all received rave reviews, and garnered her first Grammy considerations that have followed throughout her career.
Her solo recording on Maxjazz "Travelin' Light" was released in 2012 to many positive reviews. In 2025, DeRose's 4th release "Mellow Tones", on HighNote Records, garnered much attention on U.S., Asian, and European radio stations.
Her trio with rhythm section veterans Martin Wind and Matt Wilson have been featured at the annual IAJE (now the JEN) jazz education conference, the Monterey Jazz Festival (CA), the North Sea Jazz Festival (the Netherlands), The Ancona Jazz Festival (Italy), The Red Sea Jazz Festival (Israel), The Estoril Jazz Festival (Portugal), The Stanford Jazz Festival (CA), The San Jose Festival (CA), The Tel Aviv Opera House (Israel), the San Francisco Jazz Festival, Jazz Standard (NYC), the Blue Note (NYC), Jazz Standard (NYC), Birdland (NYC), Mezzrow/Smalls (NYC), Body and Soul and Swing Hall (Tokyo), The Jazz Cruise, and the ‘Annual Jazz At Sea’ Jazz Cruise, and many other jazz venues around the globe.

Peter Washington, Larry Grenadier, Dennis Irwin, Bucky Pizzarelli, Jim Rotondi, Jeff Hamilton, John Clayton, among many others.
An experienced music educator for over 30+ years, DeRose is currently heading the Vocal Jazz Department of the "KUG Jazz Institute" at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, Austria. She travels Europe, The U.S., Scandinavia, and Asia giving workshops, master classes, and private lessons. Dena has been on the faculty of the Stanford Summer Jazz Workshop for the past 28 years. In 2007, Ms DeRose was chosen as a Fulbright Specialist by the US Embassy and was 'Artist in Residence' at the first Jazz Institute in Izmir, Turkey. She is available for residencies and masterclasses world-wide.
