Acerca De Kris Scott

I was introduced to the guitar by my father who played while waiting for mother to get ready to go places, so as you can imagine he played ALOT!
I didn't pick up the guitar until I was 13 and realized, "there's a guitar in this house. Why don't I learn to play it?" (I asked myself in a moment of underwhelming clarity) So I practiced a few chords that I learned and started playing as often as I could. My first guitar memory was playing along with Alan Jackson's album "Here In The Real World". In time I suppose I got better (relatively) and became a huge Garth Brooks fan (as everyone on the planet was then). I began writing songs in high school and jammed with a couple guys here and there. But nothing formed until shortly after high school. I grew up on country music and the Beach Boys (my first cassette tape) until I was introduced to Dave Matthews and Hootie & the Blowfish. I then became a fan of more main stream music, and acoustic driven rock.
Out of high school started a band called Boxwood and played and toured the east coast for 2 years before disbanding and taking a break from music. At the peak of my musical career I opened for Cracker at Port a Call in Nags Head.
Now I love to play for and make people laugh and have a good time. My shows are fun and I take playing and sounding good seriously. The shows and performances are all good times meant to help you forget about your worries and give you a familiar song to sing in your moments in between conversation. I don't take myself too serious, you shouldn't either. We are here only for a short while and if we don't laugh every chance we get we've missed out. Don't miss out on laughing with us at the next shows. See you out there.
