Having recorded first album 'Big Guys' which was released on Lavathief , 2014 saw the band build up a reputation for their incendiary and occasionally amp-destroying gigs. In 2016 they released second album,' Liquid of Choice' on Bad Elephant Music. There's a murky interconnected web in the Brackish mix; Guitarist Luke Cawthra and drummer Matt Jones played together in art-rock band The Nuge then with Emily Breeze and Phantom Limb. Matt played with guitarist Neil Smith in afrobeat band Helele and prog-jazzers Smith and Willox. Bassist Jacob Myles-Tyghe joined the band in 2016.
