Acerca De Dropping Honey

Dropping Honey
Dropping Honey are a post-punk / shoegaze / psych band from NSW, Australia. They recently enlisted legendary producer Wayne Connolly (Underground Lovers, You Am I, Cloud Control) to record their new songs, and Jodi Phillis from seminal Australian band The Clouds contributes backing vocals to most recent single Branches (Silhouette Label) which garnered the following praise:
‘an anthemic, statuesque gem…. reverberated guitars etch out contrails in the sky at the opening before crashing through with a distorted warble, a distant vocal chorus haunting and ghostly. The vocals soar, with harmonies at the edges that recalls at times Ride, a majestic, imperial and pulse quickening wall of sound, thick with a shimmering atmosphere’ - Back Seat Mafia
'The hazy memories laden sweep of "Branches" by Wollongong, NSW, Australia based Dropping Honey feels beautifully vast and, well, dreadfully romantic actually... with the crisp tubular guitar distortions, airy sonic landscapes, propulsive drumming, bottom heavy bass drones, carousing ambience and evocative shoegaze vocals cast in dense shades of reverb, it feels like an amalgam of 80's / 90's post punk and even 60's chamber pop in some ghostly way.’ - American Pancake (U.S)
‘The revolving melody gets in your head, while the shoegaze inspiration adds a loud immersive opportunity. The more you adore the melody, the more you turn it up, the more you experience this moment proper. Branches is a song that’s meant to be played loud and retain its melodic integrity. It’s a testament to its catchy foundation. You can play it acoustic or you can dress it in glorious distortion.’ - The Wild is Calling (U.S)
