Acerca De Dan Tait

Dan Tait
Dan Tait is a West Kelowna-based singer-songwriter known for his warm, witty storytelling and soulful live performances. His music blends folk and Americana with modern honesty, creating intimate moments of connection - whether on festival stages, in cozy breweries, or at songwriter circles.
--
Rooted in folk and Americana traditions yet grounded in modern honesty, Dan’s songs blend acoustic soul, hard-won insight, and a deep sense of place. His performances—whether on festival stages, in breweries, or at intimate songwriter circles—invite listeners into moments of connection, reflection, and genuine human warmth.
Over more than two decades in the Canadian music landscape, Dan has grown from an earnest young songwriter into a respected voice across multiple corners of the industry. He is a weekly music columnist for CBC Radio One in British Columbia, where he brings thoughtful commentary, artist spotlights, and cultural context to audiences across the province. As a show producer and event curator, Dan is the mind behind community-centred series such as Red Bird Brewing’s Three Little Birds, Frog City Café’s Nashville Rounds, and his monthly digital town hall for musicians, The Listening Room. Tait lives to create and maintain welcoming spaces where artists and audiences can gather, learn, and be genuinely heard.
Beyond the stage, Dan is a dedicated workshop facilitator and mentor for emerging and mid-career artists. Through his succesful Launch Pad Workshops series, he helps artists to tackle topics like Mental Health & Sustainability, EPK Design, Festival Applications, Sound Technician Basics and more. He empowers musicians with the practical tools, knowledge, and confidence they need to navigate a rapidly changing industry. Dan also leads a series of men’s circles designed to foster connection, reflection, and personal grounding within a supportive community setting. His work balances pragmatism with compassion, offering musicians—and men in all walks of life—both strategy and a sense of belonging.
Dan is a seasoned industry professional: a former member and manager of beloved BC folk acts Tiger Moon and Kentucky Eileen; an independent show producer; and a trusted MC for festivals, live events, and international Snowboard events. These experiences have shaped his multifaceted understanding of the music world—from performance to production to storytelling—and continue to inform his work today.
Whether singing with an acoustic guitar, moderating a town hall, hosting a community round, or guiding artists and community members through transformative workshops, Dan Tait’s mission is constant: to build spaces where stories matter, where people feel supported, and where sincerity never goes out of style.
