I've been listening and purchasing music by Stanley Clarke before the School Days LP, so I was very excited to finally see a live performance with his current band. They entertained the crowd for almost two hours and I enjoyed their set knowing the depth of his musical catalog is immense! Some of my favorites didn't make it, hence -2 stars. Can't play everything in 2 hrs - call me petty, I know...the other deduction was due to the dress of band. It looked like they just walked out of Walmart and picked up their instruments and jammed! They sounded great! Visually, eh, well it was a Tuesday night- everybody else just showed up for the music! Don't miss them if they're in your area. Whether you hear your particular jam or not- You won't be sorry you went!

Amazing show with all great musicians backing this legend in an intimate setting.

First time seeing the legend and Clarke was of course excellent and he has surrounded himself with an awesome group of young virtuosos prodigies on keys, drums, tabla, and sax. The band was phenomenally amazing in a great, legendary, Bay Area jazz venue. Stanley played electric for two tunes than switched to upright the rest of the night. He played two shows a night and we went to the earlier show. The only thing I didn’t like about the show was that it ended too soon! It was over after about an hour which was sooner than I expected. The final song was a percussion feature with little to no bass as I recall. No encore, no School Days, no Lopsy Lu (unless he played some variation of it at one point it was hard to tell). Maybe the later show was extended a little more and he played more ‘hits’. For an artist with this 50 year legacy there is a vast amount of material to choose from for a shorter setlist where time is limited. I just assumed there’s no way he can play a gig at this point without some version of School Days at least as an encore.

Great show, but the set was short, about an hour. The chemistry between the performers was awesome to watch. Stanley Clarke is an amazing musician and is clearly still having fun playing for a crowd.

One of the best shows I’d seen in a long time. Mr. Evan Garr on violin was a brilliant addition to the Stanley Clarke Band.

I took my 22 yr old daughter. She never heard of him but knows that she just saw a living legend. By the way, he was great but the other guys were spectacular

Great to see that he is embracing young virtuosos and giving them exposure. I loved the diversity brought through the inclusion of the tabla and violin. The joyful interplay and competition among the performers brought fun and interest. I appreciated the time he spent on standup and his eclectic song list. The audience's enthusiasm was obviously appreciated by Stanley and his band.

Fantastic concert! The entire band was great!

Brilliant! The stage barely contained the musicianship. Stanley Clarke and the three phenomenal, young, artists exceeded every expectation.

Great musicianship, crowned by superb drumming performance from Mike Mitchell. Sound quality let it down, though.

I didn't see him this time, but when he played at the London Palladium a few months ago, along with Hiromi, they were fantastic.

Great show! Too bad we had a table of guys next to us who talked through the whole show. A polite "please stop talking" lasted for about 5 minutes. Who the hell goes to a concert to talk through the whole show? The young drummer was great but for crying out loud, do something to keep his drums from moving all around.
