Mitch first got interested in music when he started taking piano lessons at age 6. As a result his musical influences have a background deeply rooted in classical and jazz music. Mitchy Millz began in 2011 after the breakup of his hip-hop group, The Apex Crew. Mitch wanted to start a new project and was really into electronic music at the time. Mitch cites such artists as Mutemath, Diplo, N.E.R.D., The Roots, Lido, Flume, Grammatik, Flux Pavilion, Bare Noize, Dillon Francis, Noisia, Rusko, Dr. P, Pretty Lights, Skrillex, Massive Attack, Burial, Daft Punk, and Boys Noize as major influences. Today, Mitchy Millz is one of the rising artists in Philadelphia’s diverse and forward-thinking electronic music scene. He has played at many venues around the city including The Grape Room, Voltage, Underground Arts, Revelation Lounge, Red Sky, The Arts Garage, Flux, and boatloads of warehouse parties. He has been affiliated with Tres Chic Music, Glitch Squad, and Funkadelphia for both production and performing. When he’s not producing or DJing his own music, he operates his own imprint Tres Chic Music.
