Prior to J. Caruso’s first solo release he was vocalist, guitarist and composer for the Alt Rock trio Wired and drummer/ percussionist for the Americana Roots Rock outfit Jackson Ridge Rodeo. J. comes from the Caruso musician family of New Rochelle NY- including his grandfather, bassist John Francis of the independent Caruso Music Center record and instrument retailer in the 1960s and '70s.
J. is a life long drummer/ percussionist/ vocalist; guitarist and composer for two decades. He later began producing and engineering records while studying Music Industry & Tech at Mercy College in New York. In 2012 he started the solo artist venture and launched his own record label with it- now Overall Records. J. has played both New York and Southern California circuits, has toured the U.S. east coast and played CBGB and The Whisky.
He has performed drums and percussion fusion at select shows with jazz artist Duke Guillaume and SaxoMezzo and also performs with Rob Cannillo & The Acoustic Roadshow.
