Allyson Murrell is a 24-year-old singer-songwriter from Toronto, Ontario. She is an honours graduate from the Faculty of Music at the University of Toronto, and has a Bachelor of Education as well. Allyson sings, plays piano and saxophone, and composes music in many different genres, including pop, lyrical, and jazz. Allyson began playing the piano at the age of 7, an grew up immersed in music at home. She wrote her first song at the age of 12, and has continued to develop her song-writing skills since. Through her musical studies at U of T she has been able to expand her skills in musical composition and piano. From haunting melodies to tunes that just won't get out of your head, Allyson tries to capture many different aspects of the human experience in her music, as she strives to inspire her audience to think about life in a new and different light. Allyson believes that each of her original songs has a life of its own, and each has a different story to tell. On June 1st, 2015, Allyson released first EP, titled "Inspiration." She often spends her spare time performing at bars and restaurants in Toronto. Allyson loves to compose, teach, and perform music and is positive that music will be a significant part of her future.
