Somna

In an ever evolving global electronic music scene where new artists emerge daily, few manage to leave a lasting impact quite like Somna. Widely recognized as one of Canada’s leading trance exports, Somna earned the #45 position in the DJTOP100 (TrancePodium 2019), making him the highest-ranked Canadian artist on the list. Beyond his work as an artist, he is also the co-owner of AVA Recordings alongside Andy Moor, helping grow the label into one of the scene’s most respected imprints with more than 1000 releases worldwide.

As a producer, Somna’s music has found a home on some of electronic music’s biggest labels including Armada Music, Black Hole Recordings, Ophelia and Enhanced Music. Known for his melodic songwriting and polished production, he has also become a highly sought after remixer, reworking tracks for artists such as Markus Schulz, BT and Paul Oakenfold. His releases consistently reach charting positions while earning support from industry heavyweights including Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Seven Lions, Markus Schulz, and Ferry Corsten. With over 50 million streams, Somna has established himself as one of the genre’s most consistently supported artists.

In recent years, Somna has continued expanding beyond the boundaries of trance, embracing melodic bass, hard dance, and other emotionally driven styles while retaining the cinematic melodies and atmosphere that define his sound. His latest artist album, Pathways, represents this creative evolution, a reflection of artistic growth, genre exploration, and the different musical directions that continue to shape his identity. Alongside his studio success, Somna has brought his performances to audiences across Japan, Indonesia, Norway, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Philippines, Mexico, and the United States, including performances at Untold Festival, Creamfields, Global Gathering and Dreamstate SoCal in Southern California. With three artist albums, a partnership on Twitch.tv, and a constantly evolving sound, Somna continues pushing forward as one of Canada’s most versatile and globally recognized electronic artists.
