Acerca De Mama Crow
Mama Crow
Peruvian/Spanish/Irish/Puerto Rican hybrid- born Carmen Marie Gutierrez, later to take on the name and medicine of the Crow.
A New York native and East Bay transplant, this self-taught guitarist and soulful songstress evokes listeners on a deep, soul level. Her sound is a mix of rhythmic, funky finger picking and string slapping, guttural blues belts and quick lyrical flow with insidious phrasing.
Plays live shows with beatboxer Masta Lock and guitarist Joshua Wellington.
Co-Founder of witch-folk duo Scarlet Crow with Marya Stark
