Bennet and Washboard Hank were playing with Fred. I had never heard of him and was wondering who on earth we were opening for. At the time, the Spits were headling most places this size, so I was wondering why we were opening for these guys I had never heard of?
Well, from the moment they started, I was blown away. I spent every dollar I had on me that night for a bunch of his cd's and was an instant fan.
(Funny side note, Pat Langner fell asleep that night on the couch backstage with a cigarette in his mouth. The pillow caught on fire as well as a section of the couch! I joked for weeks that I saved his life)!
I've seen Fred Eaglesmith live at least 10 times since then, and it's always a great show.
But last night was amazing. What a great backing band, Tif Ginn and Fred were on fire. It was a special night at Uxbridge Music Hall. Saying that, I think every show with this particular group of musicians will be a special night.
If you are a fan of Fred Eaglesmith, Tif Ginn, or live music, you must go see this latest incarnation of the band.
