Short-wave's journey as a dj started more like a joke during his final year of high school in 2007. He remained a bedroom dj right through to 2009 when he broke free off the walls of his bedroom to go public with his talent. Between 2007 - 2009 he mainly played hip-hop, RnB, dancehall, ragga and the Kenyan local music with the likes of E-sir, Krupt, Nameless and the like dominating his sets. 2009 saw short-wave (then dj spg), get introduced to EDM by new friends he had made in Switzerlandand after moving there, immediately getting hooked. This was the beginning of his journey in finding his character as dj and entertainer. The same also saw Short-wave change his name from dj spg to dj stevie. Dj stevie was a phase of growth for short-wave, as he was busy discovering what his talents could get him to accomplish by diversifying his sets even more. As much his appetite for EDM grew everyday, he incorporate dancehall, Kenyan local music and reggeaton to entertain the diverse crowds he delt with in Switzerland. In 2010 after a few successful plays in Geneva Switzerland, it was time for short-wave to grow more by moving on to entertain slightly more mature crowds which saw him change dj stevie to dj wildcard. Wildcard was short-wave's way of identifying his sets with his stage name as they were very spontaneous keeping the crowds always guessing what he was going to do next. At this point in time he went on to form a group with a good friend called the Music Doctors. Music doctors was an idea and a way of life. The duo that formed Music doctors were considered so as they always delivered what crowds expected and quenched their thirst for that higher level of music needs ranging all genres mixable on decks. The formation of Music doctors also saw Dj wildcard evolve into Short-wave. It was then that short-wave's career as a dj was getting to higher octaves by getting more widespread gigs, events, club residencies, curtain raisngs and bigger offers across Europe. Some of the clubs the duo played at may have been close to eir Uni Campuses, but that didn't deter them from pushing further and wide which landed them offers such as opening for Avicii and SHM at Amnesia one of the biggest clubs in Ibiza, Spain in the summer of 2011. 2012 saw the split of Music Doctors due to different career paths and visions for both Short-wave and Dj Apoorv. This saw Short-wave head down to South Africa after 3.5 long years in Switzerland to kick it down with the Zulu people and learn the Kwaito way of music and life. After his 6months in S.A. He then came back home with the bid of changing the party life in Kenya with a few projects already underway... An International Dj that specialises in multiple Electro Dance Music (EDM) genres.
