Prodigal

"this majestic moshpit detonator demonstrates that this new UK band are the real deal." - The Guardian

"Prodigal have built their sound in relative isolation, a disconnect that works in their favour as "The Door" arrives feeling fully formed and untethered to any particular regional trend." - The Line of Best Fit

"a depraved mélange of detuned riffs and primal-screamed expulsions" - Revolver

"Dominated by a bending, deliciously warped guitar line, it’s the latest cut from the Stroud newcomers, who have burst through from the underground to make themselves into a bright new prospect." - Kerrang!
Emerging from the rolling landscapes of Stroud in the UK's South West, Prodigal are rapidly establishing themselves as one of the most compelling new voices in British alternative music. Blending crushing heaviness with moments of haunting beauty, the quartet create music that feels simultaneously intimate and cinematic, where textured guitars, hypnotic rhythms and soaring melodies collide with raw emotional intensity.
Drawing from the spirit of late '90s and early 2000s alternative music while refusing to be confined by genre, Prodigal have crafted a sound entirely their own. Equal parts expansive and confrontational, their songs occupy the space between vulnerability and devastation, balancing atmosphere with explosive catharsis in a way that feels both timeless and unmistakably modern.
Following a standout performance at 2000Trees Festival and a growing reputation as one of the UK's most exciting live prospects, the band entered a new chapter with their signing to Deep Love Recordings. Their debut single for the label, The Door, immediately generated widespread attention across the alternative music community, introducing listeners to a band whose ambition extends far beyond convention.
Rather than chasing trends, Prodigal build immersive worlds, with each release revealing another piece of a vision that feels vast, mysterious and deeply affecting.
With an ever expanding catalogue of new material on the horizon, Prodigal are poised to become one of the UK's defining new alternative exports.
Fiercely original yet instantly resonant, they are a band whose momentum is being driven not by hype alone, but by music that demands to be experienced. As the next chapter unfolds, Prodigal are proving that some of the most exciting discoveries still emerge from the places few people are looking.
