Acerca De Robots With Souls
Robots With Souls is like a band, but with only one member. Its like a band with regards to the level of noise that is produced, and in the traditional use of drums, guitars & vocals that create a familiar layer of sounds. However in this band it is all achieved from just one man. So you may be thinking that this is all very well in a studio, but the whole point of Robots With Souls is to feed a hunger for playing live music, and so the live set up is where you will see all the pieces of this 'band' fit into their rightful place. "Sometimes it doesn't take much to be new. Live looping stopped being sup rising some time ago, and bass and drums duos litter hipster house parties like half smoked Camels, yet we've never seen anyone put them together. Robots With Souls' Steve Wilson balances a two string bass on a sparse drum kit, and samples up some big, dense rhythms over which he delivers fragmented lyrics with melodic intensity." Nightshift Music Magazine "Coming on like a one man Death From Above, RWS is a fearsome juggernaut of lo fi loop pedal drone rock. My personal favourite track "Watch Out!" is like a raw nerve of clattering drum explosions and fuzzed up bass brutality. Vocals are a distorted pulp and the overall effect is exhilarating to say the least." The 405 "Robots With Souls create noisy experimental drone rock. New track 'Follow The Sun' is an unforgiving industrial churning machine of distorted bass guitars and powerful snare stabs, with an unnervingly pretty outro. We really can't wait to hear more!" Oxford Music Blog "Who needs ear drums when you have these drums? Angsty, raw-cous and delightfully distorted, Wilson creates a sound so immense and tense that you are guaranteed to forget this is a one-man band.” Oxfordshire Music Scene "It shouldn't work, but it does, to often stunning effect, 'Mad King Ludwig II' in particular is a nasty grunged-out crunch-up of drones and full-on rock bombast. Not so long ago people marvelled at the new wave of two-piece bands rendering full bands redundant with their scale of noise. Robots With Souls just rendered that second per on redundant."
