Mike Dillon with Punkadelick was amazing. Brian Haas and Nicki Glaspie truly know how to be the driving beat and rhythm behind Mr. Dillon's amazing xylophone and percussion work. Dillon's style of free form, avant garde jazz punk is relatively unheralded in the post punk, jam-jazz, acid pop world.Think Sun-Ra Arkestra meets Jim Morrison and rather than a birth a love child, they each adopted one that was a bit strange. The band played two sets lasting almost three hours of music much to the delight of the 50 or so patrons and guests of Love Velma.
Love Velma is a members only establishment in a private residence near Ellenville NY and certainly has a unique style. We thoroughly enjoyed their hospitality, and had a wonderful time mingling with cool people and being able to meet and speak with the fans before the show and during the set breaks. While a small stage and sound system it was properly aligned and the sound quality in the room was quite perfect for the size of the room. The setting was a perfect complement to the music. If anyone is on the fence about catching Punkadelick, get off that fence and go listen to three of the most amazing musicians of our time.

Acerca De THE MIKE DILLON BAND
We released our debut Record "Urn" on royal potato family in september of 2012. We have been living in a van and have toured with Fishbone, Umphery's McGee,Clutch,Primus and Marco Benevento. Mike has been destroying percussion and touring since 1987. This band once featured the powerful Carly Meyers. She is now rocking the free world with Yojimbo. In 2014 the Mike released the Band of Outsiders on the Royal Potato Label. The band has been touring less in 2015 while Mike has been busy with Primus and the Chocolate Factory playing vibes, marimba, and tabla with the legendary thrash funk trio as they warp the original soundtrack of Willie Wonka. Mike has also started the New Orleans Punk Rock Percussion Consortium and has played Bayou Boogaloo in New Orleans to howling reviews of joy. The group features a multitude of New Orleans percussionist from the Great Stanton Moore to the Genius Jason Marsalis. Mike Has recently scored a short film called Flotsam and finished an all percussion album that pays tribute to Elliot Smith, Martin Denny and Neil Young.
