Acerca De THE VIDEO DEAD

Official bio from www.stereodynamite.com:

Since forming in 2002, Burlington Ontario's The Video Dead have been doing some serious sonic damage in demo studios and underground venues to perfect their unique brand of punk-infused hardcore and their incredibly intense live show.

Having already released a handful of limited edition demos, CD/EPs and a split release with Ontario punk legends Jersey, the band is finally set to explode onto the Canadian music scene with the April 18 release of their debut album Brotherhood Of The Dead (Stereo Dynamite Recordings /EMI).

With Brotherhood Of The Dead, The Video Dead have encapsulated the energy of their ferocious live show into 12 catchy, anthemic tracks that resonate long after the album has ended. Fans of Death By Stereo, Kid Dynamite, Bouncing Souls and Madball will easily identify with The Video Dead's mix of technical guitar playing, scream-a-long choruses and memorable, bouncing hooks guaranteed to set the mosh pits into motion!

"We wanted to create something darker than what we'd done on the earlier demos," says vocalist Ben Rispin of the band's debut full-length album. "We wanted heavy, anger-driven music with hopeful lyrics and a definite punk rock foundation but we didn't want to lose melody."

From the fierce, punch-in-the-face riffing and harsh lyrical barbs of opening track Cover Me I'm Goin' In on to the middle-finger-in-the-air sentiments of "Rad, Like Tony Alva Rad" (a song pointed at manufactured bands -and do we really need to say who?), there is an undeniable punk-rock ethos and social awareness that translates into a call-to-arms to kids to question their surroundings, their lives and... themselves.

"I've always had a very strong opinion about politics and current events... I don't want to preach to people at all, but I definitely like our songs to have meaning and a lot more substance. I'm sick of songs about girls," says Rispin.

Already a major force on the Southern Ontario scene, The Video Dead will be taking their bonecrushing live show on the road across the country several times this year as part of a tireless tour schedule to promote Brotherhood Of The Dead.

The first video from the album "I Love It When A Plan Comes Together" was released in early Apri 2006l. The video is a no-holds barred, eye-of-the-hurricane, visually stunning view from the pit that will introduce the world to the wild ride that is typical of a Video Dead live show!
