Markus Reuter is a composer, virtuoso touch guitarist, and record producer based in Berlin. Initially trained as a pianist before focusing on composition, he later studied Robert Fripp’s Guitar Craft, mastered the Chapman Stick, and eventually transitioned to designing and playing his own signature instruments, including the U8, T8, and S8 Touch Guitars.

Reuter has released numerous solo albums exploring both intricate compositions and ambient soundscapes, and has collaborated extensively across a wide variety of genres. He holds a prominent position in the experimental band Anchor and Burden, forms the duo Tuner with Pat Mastelotto, and was a member of the Europa String Choir. He has also worked alongside notable artists such as Gary Husband, Robert Rich, J. Peter Schwalm, Mark Wingfield, and many others, showcasing his versatility through his past involvement in Devin Townsend’s touring band.

Today, Reuter is highly active as a live performer in formidable groups and power trios, including Stick Men (with Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto), TU-NER (with Pat Mastelotto and Trey Gunn), centrozoon, Anchor and Burden, and TRUCE (featuring Asaf Sirkis and Fabio Trentini), as well as the Markus Reuter/Tim Motzer/Kenny Grohowski trio.
