The W Likes was born some time around December 2010 – January 2011 by Willy (vocals & guitar), Erik (drums) and Balbosj (bass). Started playing in June 2011 after searching for a rehearsal space for months. So 15th of June 2011 is the official birthday of the band. Live debut came the same year as an acoustic set at Gravdahl, Hamar during Rocktober. Early 2012 they became a four piece when Stian joined on guitar. Later that year they recorded a 3 songs demo at Musikkverket Hamar to fulfil the demand of sound on the web. Festival debut at Tangenrock. In 2013 they recorded "Lucky Bastards" and "Into the Within" at Silvertone Studio in Fredrikstad. Released on 10" vinyl and digital platforms through Ramah Records. This was also the year they went back to being a trio after the departure of Stian. 2014 was not a year with many highlights. The band had only one live show, in Trondheim, and got a new and better rehearsal space. Erik left the band to focus on family life. 2015 Kurti joined on drums to complete the lineup. The band headed to Memphis Bound Studio and recorded the songs “This Time” and “Nice” (released on digital platforms October 2nd). Live debut with Kurti came during the summer at Strandrock in Hamar. 2016 was a year of rehearsing for the studio, recording the album (once again at Memphis Bound Studio), going back to the studio fixing things, rehearsing, back to the studio, fixing the album art done by the awesome David Paul Seymour and finally getting the masters done (technically that was in the start of 2017). Debut album released June 6th 2017 on cd and digital formats and December 6th 2017 on vinyl. All through Ramah Records. Currently working on selling vinyl, booking dates and writing new material.
