Matthew Mole

Loved the music you couldn't fault the artist one bit. Lovely atmosphere and amazing stage presence. Lots of variety in terms of song choice for both a younger and older crowd. There was a merch table with reasonable price items that all had lovely designs. There was a clear indication the artist loves what he does with a family oriented crew around him. The restaurant on the other hand was underwhelming - they seemed unprepared in catering for such a volume of customers. Food orders had an arrival time of plus minus an hour with waitrons looking overwhelmed as there was a lack of waitrons to serve the customers. The tables were also poorly allocated which did not allow for customers nor waitrons to pass by and simply lacked care as in plain terms we were "packed like sardines".

Outstanding. I first saw Matthew years ago at Kfm's Kday when it was still staged at Newlands. He was alone on stage with a kick-drum and ukulele, but I remember thinking "this guy has some good tunes". Now his songs are all over the local radio playlists and he has developed into a master showman, the sell-out crowd at Kirstenbosch on their feet and lapping it up – he knows how to work the audience. Great stuff, as were the support act, Amistat – beautiful set by them. There is one thing I have to get off my chest. Every time I go to Kirstenbosch, I seem to be sat next to groups of people who only want to chat amongst themselves and pay no attention to the music. Why? Today was a sell-out, so you guys, sitting with your backs to the stage, were denying others from attending. To me it's really rude. If you're not interested in the artist's content, then just go somewhere else to talk your s**t and leave others to enjoy the event. But Matthew and guests – just brilliant. Amazing set that I will never forget – thank you for a wonderful night's entertainment!

Unfortunately, it was sparsely attended, so the vibe was less than we expected.

I had such a great time, it was fun listening to some newer artists and some more established artists. Desmond & the Tutus were awesome and Matthew Mole was incredible! Really love Matthew Mole’s stage presence, he was definitely my favourite!

Nicer if there had been spaces to sit but a great show

Matthew Mole, as usual, was awesome. His youngest fan, Lyra Crisell, 2.5years old and her Gran, Jennifer Crisell, 64years old, probably one of his oldest fans, had the best time ever.

Matthew Mole was excellent! However, it was advertised that the show would begin at 19h00, while it only started at 21h00 due to two artists that preceded him. That would have been fine if there wasn't a babysitter waiting for us at home.
