North of Nashville is the Maine-based country act consisting of singer / songwriter Jay Bragg and fiddler Andrew Martelle. Since forming in 2010 as a side project from Bragg and Martelle’s previous band This Way, NoN - with their big “Waylon Jennings meets Charlie Daniels” sound produced by just two musicians - rapidly found a faithful fanbase stretching from Bangor, ME to Houston, TX. NoN was awarded New England Music Award’s “Country Act Of The Year” in 2015 as well as earning gigs opening for acts like Dierks Bentley, Gary Allan, Zac Brown Band, Phil Vassar and Lake Street Dive to name a few. In Oct. 2015, Bragg moved to Nashville, TN to pursue a solo career while Martelle joined Maine act The Mallett Brothers Band. NoN celebrated the first five years and 1000 live concerts by releasing a “Best Of” compilation featuring a full band production of the band’s most beloved songs. “Strike Up The Band” was released in January of 2016 and can be found wherever music is sold and streamed. Bragg and Martelle, now living in different parts of the country and busy with other projects, still maintain a handful of live concerts a year.
