Acerca De Sid Phelps
Hailing from Bullock County, Alabama at an early age, Sid Phelps has had a love for music; from singing in church to learning songs on the radio with his sister, there has always been music. When Sid was eight, his father brought home his first guitar, and by the time he was thirteen, the guitar became part of his daily routine. In 2008, Sid began playing shows locally around Troy, Al., and other local markets. During this time, he honed his craft in small bars, restaurants, and parties’ night after night.
By 2012, the shows began to expand, and opportunities started to open. In February of that year, Phelps won a local competition, “Kowaliga Idol”, in the Lake Martin, Al. area. Later that same year, Phelps went into the studio to release his first EP “Front Porch Sessions” - this six-song release was the first release of original music telling stories of his life and childhood. After the release of “Front Porch Sessions”, Phelps has had the opportunity to open for well-known artists like Confederate Railroad, Jo Dee Messina, Daryle Singletary, and many others.
In 2015, Sid went back into the studio to begin working on ideas for new music, and released the single, “Country Way of Living”. The song was written as a dedication to Alabama Farmers and Phelps’s father. In the Summer of 2016, Phelps released his next single “Why Can’t They All Be Country Girls” a fun, upbeat song playing with a modern country feel.
Since 2016, Phelps has continued to play shows throughout the Southeast and continues to open for artists as they travel through the region. During the Summer months, if he is not on stage, you can find him enjoying the lake with friends, family and his dog, Basil.
