Leach Field is based out of Winslow, Maine. The band originated as a recording project by lead guitarist, Derek Bouchard. Some early songs were recorded and ambitions rose. Soon, Bouchard asked rhythm guitarist Nick Murray and bassist Nate Cromwell to join him in the recording process. Leach Field, now with three solid members, was simply missing a drummer and front man. Bouchard and Murray soon asked drummer Derick Welch, whom they had played with in a previous band, to join the in the band. With all the instruments intact, Leach Field began making remarkable progress in the song writing process. With an hour long instrumental set pinned down, LF began playing parties. However, the obvious problem of the lack of a front man soon arose, and vocalist auditions began. While trudging through auditions with the wealth of mediocre singers in the area, a man by the name of Colin Curtis soon tried out. Impressed by the sheer power of his voice, in his ability to place vocals into nontraditional verse and chorus sections, Curtis was soon the front man of Leach Field. After no more than 2 practices under his belt, Curtis played his first show with the band. Leach Field is now playing local shows around the State of Maine, with ambitions to progress in the music industry.
