Acerca De JEFF MAGIDSON / Bumble Blues Music
Native of San Francisco, Jeff MAGIDSON was born into a family of musicians. After practicing his first scales on the piano, and his first syncopations on the drums, he decided to devote himself entirely to music, and chose the guitar as his instrument of choice. At an early age, he began to develop his fingers and hands in local clubs.
In 1983, he spent a year in France, where he began to be asked to play in Blues and Jazz bands that took him all over Europe.
He finally decided to settle in France, and gave full rein to his talent with the group SWEET MAMA.
From then on, a Slide & Bottleneck specialist, he honed his style on the Dobro, readily acknowledging guitar influences ranging from Muddy WATERS to Roy ROGERS and Ry COODER, with a healthy dose of Johnny WINTER thrown in for good measure.
In 1994, after a solo career (as a "one-man band") and a few opening acts for blues greats (Calvin RUSSEL, Joe Louis WALKER, etc.), he founded the band JOHN DOE, with whom he recorded three albums, of "Blues-Funk", well received by audiences and critics alike (radio appearances on FIP, France Inter, RTL, numerous concerts in France and abroad, among others).
In 1998, he recorded an album with Californian musician and composer Hans OLSON.
After returning to San Francisco some twenty years ago, he joined the Hot Club of San Francisco and became the director at a West Coast music school. He also performs with the bands Duo Gadjo, The Mighty Mules, and most recently JEFF MAGIDSON & ROBINSON STREET TRIO.
