Acerca De Gra

Gra
Grá was formed in 2010 by Heljarmadr (Cursed 13, Domgård, Dark Funeral) and Dimman (Spazmosity, Cursed 13). The band has since then released an EP, two full lenght albums, a mini-CD, two singles, a full live video, numerous live concerts and several music videos.
Grá performs classic Swedish styled black metal, singing mainly in their native tongue. Since the beginning up until now all releases have been focused around the concept of death. From the longing for death, to the dying and further on to the passage to the other side.
The new album "Ending" is the final part in the chapter and mark the end of an era. The album includes prominent guests from the Scandinavian underground such as Eldur (Fortid, ex-Den Saakaldte etc) and Grim Vindkall (Domgård, Snakeskin Angels, ex-Nox Aurea).
Grá is a well reputated live act and has been hand picked to open shows for bands like Taake, Dark Funeral and ABSU to mention a few. Alongside Heljarmadr and Dimman, Grá consist of Maugrim and Natt on guitars and Vediger on bass.
The name Grá comes from a mixture of the Icelandic "grár" and the Swedish "grå", simply meaning "gray". The major content of the lyrical concept is based upon the ancient Scandinavian religion, or rather upon the dark aspects of ancient Scandinavian spirituality. Grá is not a part of any organised religious movements but stands as an independent force. Grá uses Charon from the ancient Greek mythology as a symbol of transition. Death is always present.
