The Duke of Norfolk

The Duke of Norfolk is the recording project of Oklahoma-born peripatetic folk musician Adam Thomas Howard. Howard was inspired early on by Irish traditional music, bluegrass music, and the London-based folktronic band Tunng. After moving to Edinburgh to study Sound Design his music began to nestle somewhere between traditional folk instrumentation and more modern electronic folk.

Howard currently resides and records in Paris where he’s had the privilege of collaborating closely with Kate Stables (This is the Kit) and Ben Lanz (The National, Sufjan Stevens, Beirut). He released a Scottish folk inspired EP, Golden Light & Thistle, late in 2023 heavily featuring Stables and a full length album, Non-Hypnotised Man as a Camera, in late 2025 which Lanz recorded and co-produced.
